Monster Bags for Kids

These little monsters are very easy to make and your kids will love!
For this project i bought 2 fat quarter fabrics (cost= 1.30 each) and used a bit of scraps felt)

  • Cut 2 (5x12) strips
  • Fold the strips in half and press, open fold and fold the sides towards the fold, after done both sides , fold again in the middle and press
after pressing you may go ahead and stitch each side along the 12" about 1/8"
  • Cut 2 (10x 9 rectangles from each fabric)
  • Cut 1 (9x 5 of the main fabric)
  • Cut 2 felt circles and 2 felt triangles
  • if your bag is going to be a monster this is the moment to add your details
  • Stitch the circles on a 10x 9 main fabric
  • Pin the triangles on the 9x5

Stitch the triangles on the back of the 9x 5
stitch the 2( 9x 10  main fabric )and the 5x9 make sure this fabric is in the lower part of the 9x 10 that has the eyes sewed on(right side of the eye fabric against wrong side of the mouth fabric)and  right sides of the 9x19 together ; stitch all 3 sides , leave one of the 9" sides open
Then w the other 9x 10 patterned fabric put right side together and stitch around it leaving one of the 9" sides without stitching

  • Then i stitched both peaces in the bottom together
  • Then i turned inside out trough the top

At this point you fold both fabrics on the opening towards the inside and pin

Then stitched the entire top of the bag

And your done !!!!!
